Antonio Cejas
Principal

Mr. Cejas enjoys a rich history of academic and cultural excellence within the
South Florida educational community. His twenty five years of academic
success are a result of collegial partnerships between school communities,
faculty, staff and parents, who provide a diversity of experiences for the
students, under Mr. Cejas’ leadership. During his tenure in the private Catholic
sector, Mr. Cejas implemented and supervised many innovative educational
programs, including the creation of an inclusive special education program that
serviced the needs of hundreds of students. In addition, Principal Cejas was a
leader in transforming low performing schools to meet the needs of the twenty
21st learners through technology and the developmental strategies for creating
a positive school climate and culture.
As an elementary school teacher in Miami, Florida, Principal Cejas was
nominated and selected as Teacher of the Year in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2001. As
a middle school assistant principal, he led the transformation of two
low-performing inner city Catholic schools, into award winning high
performance schools. Both schools were recognized as vibrant and efficient,
with local acclaims of academic success.
Prior to accepting the role of principal at Academir, Cejas maintained a position
as a recognized bilingual educational speaker and consultant. Principal Cejas is
a well-known speaker for transforming the attitudes of at-risk schools in many
schools districts across the United States and countries in Central America and
the Caribbean. As versatile speaker, he regularly conducts conference keynote
addresses, professional development workshops, parental engagement
seminars and workshops in transformational Leadership. In addition, Mr. Cejas
is an adjunct professor at several colleges in South Florida that include: The
School of Education, at Miami Dade College and “Sistema Universitario Ana G.
Mendez” and San Ignacio de Loyola University, Lima, Peru.
Principal Cejas is married to his wife Dr. Maria A Rodriguez-Cejas, and is the
father of their two children, Antonio Gabriel and Andrea de la Concepcion. He
earned his B.S. degree in Elementary Education from St. Thomas University and
his M.A. degree in Educational Leadership and School Administration from St.
Thomas University, School of Education. Currently, Mr. Cejas is seeking a
Doctorate Degree in Educational leadership from Marymount University,
Arlington Virginia.
